LINO PRINTS ON SHOW AT THE OPEN SUMMER  EXHIBITION 2022. ATELIER BY THE SEA BRIGHTON.

Lino Prints ‘Wolf in The Woods” and ‘The Hare & Lurcher’ are exhibited at the Open Summer Exhibition 2022. I am over the moon that the Atelier by the Sea Brighton have selected my work and I still can’t quite believe it. It’s such a confidence booster and it makes all the hard work so worthwhile. Very honoured to have been selected alongside some really accomplished artists.  All artwork is professionally framed. My prints are displayed in some gorgeous oak frames at the Gallery which is an open-themed exhibition running from now until 3rd September 2022.

An Eclectic Summer Exhibition Show 2022

I am exhibiting alongside some really exciting and diverse artworks, from emerging artists to the more established. The gallery is wall to wall with oil paintings, acrylics, watercolours, gouache paintings,  textiles, patchwork, embroidery, Lino prints, etchings, collages and silkscreens. There are also ceramics, glasswork, 3D textiles and sculpture. An incredible array of work! There is a gallery shop where you can buy contemporary jewellery, ceramics, textiles, cards and Sarah Young’s tea towels that can be turned into a cut and sew kit.

FIRST OPEN CALL EXHIBITION AT ATELIER BY THE SEA

This is the first open-call exhibition and the most ambitious exhibition being held at Atelier by the Sea. It is a real gem of a gallery and an oasis situated in the Arches right on Brighton’s bustling seafront. It is run by organiser Jon Tutton and artist Sarah Young and it is a brilliantly curated exhibition. Really thankful to them for all their hard work and I don’t envy them for having to hang all those pieces. The planning must have been quite a feat.

PRIVATE VIEW SUMMER EXHIBITION 2022

The private view was held on 14th July and was  one of the busiest private views I have ever been to. There was a steady stream of people for the 2 hours it was on.  My prints are displayed with printmakers that I have long admired and it was so good to be able to see their work in such a great venue. I have discovered artists that are completely new to me and made some lovely connections. There are around 200 pieces of work by 150 artists which are selected from over 1000 applicants. I feel extremely lucky and humbled to be exhibiting here. So if you need an excuse to visit sunny Brighton, eat lots of ice cream and see some incredible artwork here’s your chance!

Some of my Favourite Art Works And Prints at the open call exhibition

Here are some of my favourite art works from the summer exhibition. I wish I could have included more. Being so busy taking photos was quite challenging. I have realised that most of the artwork featured here are printmakers which is not intentional. The artists I have featured are John Pedder (printmaker), Cally Conway, (Lino printer), Claire Mumford (printmaker), Hattie Gordon (Gouache painting), Masha Tiplady ( Printmaker), and Jasmine Harper Jones (painter). Sarah Young, (illustrator, printmaker and painter).

I plan to visit the exhibition again before September to take better pictures of the art I missed the first time around. You will need a good hour or more to truly appreciate all the work. There is just so much fascinating artwork so do go and see it if you get the chance and Brighton is so much fun!
